The 2025 Byton M-Byte was first publicly unveiled at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show. The car was originally unveiled as a concept and was revised as it was unveiled. However, it went into mass production in mid-2019 and was expected to arrive in the US by 2020.
But, for some reason, Byton went bankrupt and ended its ongoing work with Foxconn as a manufacturing partner indefinitely.

Design:
Byton, a startup company, is focused on building electric vehicles. The production version looks very similar to the original concept. But, a few minor changes. Its front fascia is slightly different with a new headlight design and its split taillights look more like split headlights.

Interior:
It features a 4K curved 48-inch infotainment display, a 7-inch display on the steering wheel with integrated airbags, and Javin-Car gesture control technology. There is a small tablet-like display on the steering wheel and a full-width display that will dominate the dashboard.
The interior of the M-Byte will be well-appointed in stitched leather with metallic accents. But the M-Byte’s party piece is the front seats, which can swivel inwards to make it easier to converse with rear-seat passengers while on the move. The rear seat can be divided by a tall center console as a three-across bench or as two separate bucket seats.
Besides being packed with technical features, a large exclusive 48-inch infotainment display runs almost the entire length of the dashboard and serves as a gauge as well as providing access to the M-byte’s entertainment, settings, and telematics.
This is on display for the driver. A tablet on the steering wheel and a duplicate touchpad on the center console allows both the driver and front-seat passenger to interact with the display.

Powertrain:
When the car goes on sale, the M-Byte will be available with a rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive electric powertrain. Dual electric motors exist as 2025 byton M-byte engine configurations. Whereas rear-wheel-drive models are powered by a single 268-hp electric motor.
All-wheel-drive models, however, will have two motors and a combined horsepower of 402 in acceleration. Byton claims the single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup is good for a 7.5-second zero-to-62-mph time, but the dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain shaves two seconds off that time to 5.5 increases.
Battery Power and Range:
Byton will offer M-Byte crossover SUV battery packs, with a 200 kW (268 hp 272 PS) (RWD) battery pack on the standard M-Byte and a larger 300 kW (402 hp 408PS) (4WD) pack option. It is used as a liquid cooling battery consisting of a prismatic catal lithium-ion battery. The electric motor uses a magneto synchronous motor supplied by Bosch.
The company says that the M-Byte is 80% production-ready, so some of its more fictitious components may change before it hits the public road. The Byton M-Byte car promises 0-80% fast charging up to 120kW/150kW in 35 minutes. The Subcompact luxury car will have a 250-mile (400 km) range that could be upgraded to 323 miles (520 km).
Safety and Driver Assist Systems
A Byton representative told CR that every M-Byte will come standard with automatic emergency braking and blind spot warning, along with an active driving assistance suite that assists with acceleration, steering, and braking. Also, Byton will be able to update that system’s functionality over the air, with downloadable software upgrades.
